Shin Jeong Yil
Shin Jeong Yil (Shin Jeongyil, , 1938–1999) was the founder of Hanol-gyo (Korean spiritual foundation), a politician (the founder of Unified Korea party) and an entrepreneur(the founder of Hanon Group). Hanol-gyo Hanol-gyo was established based on Hanol principle which is the teachings on enlightenment and awakening; it pursues self-liberation of consciousness rather than the traditional ways of religious worship. According to its doctrine of Spiritual Acceptance, Hanol-gyo is open to multi-culture as it allows its participants from various cultures to practice their religion as well. It regards all enlightened beings (Dangun, Buddha, Jesus, Lao-tzu, Confucius, etc.) as teachers of enlightenment and awakening, and various religions as the pursuit of True Spirituality in different ways. Shin (Korean Name)
Sin or Shin is a Korean family name. It is cognate to the Chinese family names Shēn (surname), Shēn (申) and Xīn (surname), Xin (辛). According to the 2000 census in South Korea, there were 911,556 people with the surname ''Sin''. Clans There are three Hanja, Chinese characters that can be read as ''Sin''. 1997 South Korean Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in South Korea on 18 December 1997. The result was a victory for opposition candidate Kim Dae-jung, who won with 40.3 percent of the vote. When he took office in 1998, it marked the first time in Korean history that the ruling party peacefully transferred power to the opposition party. National Library Of Korea
The National Library of Korea is located in Seoul, South Korea and was established in 1945. It houses over 10 million volumes, including over 1,134,000 foreign books and some of the National Treasures of South Korea. It was relocated within Seoul, from Sogong-dong, Jung-gu to Namsan-dong in 1974, and again to the present location at Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, in 1988. It was transferred from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Culture in 1991. National Library of Korea History Libraries in Korea came into being due to the major influence Western ideologies had on Korea as well as Japanese Colonialism. Yonhap News Agency is a major South Korean news agency. It is based in Seoul, South Korea. Yonhap provides news articles, pictures and other information to newspapers, TV networks and other media in South Korea. History Yonhap (, , translit. 1987 South Korean Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in South Korea on 16 December 1987. They marked the establishment of the Sixth Republic, as well as the end of the authoritarian rule that had prevailed in the country for all but one year since its founding in 1948. They were the first direct presidential elections since 1971. For the previous 15 years, presidents had been indirectly elected by the National Conference for Unification, an electoral college dominated by the governing party. The elections took place following a series of protests and before the 1988 Summer Olympics, which would be held in Seoul. Roh Tae-woo of the governing Democratic Justice Party won the elections with 37% of the vote. The two major opposition candidates, Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-jung, won over 55% of the vote between them. Voter turnout was 89%.
