is a Featherweight boxer from Japan and the former world champion of WBA at Super bantamweight. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido and grew up in Kure City in Hiroshima Prefecture. Hayanari Shimoda (下田隼成; Shimoda Hayanari) (born July 16, 1984) is a Japanese race car driver, born in Tokyo. His career started in 1997 in karting, Shimoda moving up to Italian Formula Renault in 2001. Happy to travel the world to further his career, he raced part of the 2002 Japanese GT Series and fill-in races in both Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup and British Formula Renault. A full season in Formula Renault V6 Eurocup followed in 2003, as well as a part season in the World Sportscar Championship and one race in the American Le Mans Series. (1887 - October 10, 1972), born in Iwanai District, Hokkaidō, helped to establish what became the Scout Association of Japan. He was Japan's first Chief Scout. Background His father, , participated in the organization from the Kanezawa han, which developed land to make it suitable for habitation. After graduating from , he worked as an army officer. Takashi Shimoda
is a former Japanese football player. He who is the currently goalkeeper coach for Japan. Club career Shimoda was born in Hiroshima on 28 November 1975. After graduating from high school, he joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1994. He did not play many matches until the mid 1990s, as he was behind Kazuya Maekawa and Kazumasa Kawano. Kawano left the club in 1997 and Maekawa was injured in 1998; Shimoda then became a regular goalkeeper in 1998. Although he played as the regular goalkeeper until 2007, he sustained a knee injury that same year. He did not play from 2008 and retired at the end of the 2010 season. was a Japanese diplomat who served as ambassador to the United States and a justice in the Supreme Court of Japan. Career Shimoda served as vice foreign minister (a bureaucratic appointment) within the Japanese Foreign Ministry. He was involved in the revision of the 1951 Security Treaty Between the United States and Japan. Shimoda served as ambassador to the United States from 28 June 1967 until September 1970. He was a signatory of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons on 3 February 1970. From 12 January 1971 until 2 April 1977, he served as a justice in the Supreme Court of Japan. Utako Shimoda
was a Japanese educator and poet of the Meiji and Taishō period. Born in present-day Ena, Gifu, she was the founder many educational organizations, including what is today Jissen Women's University. She had international influence, and was one of the most influential women in Asia. Biography Utako Shimoda was born into a samurai family as Seki Hirao, in Iwakara, in Gifu Prefecture. For the first 6–7 years of her life she was an only child, and studied the Confucian classics; she is said to have read all the Chinese and Japanese books her parents had. Her father and grandfather were Confucian scholars. In the run up to the Meiji Restoration, the Hirao family were firmly on the side of the Emperor, and when the Shogunate fell, Utako's father was given a prominent position in Tokyo, where the family moved in 1870, when Utako Shimoda was about 16.
