Shimmer Women Athletes
Shimmer Women Athletes (often referred to and stylized as SHIMMER) is an American, Chicago-based independent women's professional wrestling promotion which held its first event on November 6, 2005. Established by Dave Prazak and run by both him and Allison Danger, the promotion was created to give female wrestling talent from North America and beyond a serious, non-objectifying platform on which to display their skills. The company takes a unique approach to staging its live events: Shimmer runs one large show every three months (on average) at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois. Two DVDs worth of material are taped at each of these super-shows, and are sold as single volumes—initially through Ring of Honor's online store, before being nationally distributed through retail outlets. Due to Prazak's prior work with Ring of Honor, the two companies are closely affiliated, with ROH promoting Shimmer by periodically featuring its performers on ROH pre- and main-show cards. Berwyn, Illinois
Berwyn is a suburban city in Cook County, Illinois, coterminous with Berwyn Township, which was formed in 1908 after breaking off from Cicero Township. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 57,250. History Before being settled, the land that is now Berwyn was traversed by Native American trails. Beth Crist (née Vocke; born January 29, 1986) is an American professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Nevaeh. She is best known for her time in Impact Wrestling as well as Women of Wrestling (WOW) under the name Hazard. Jazmin Benitez (born November 17, 1980) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the ring name Mercedes Martinez. Shimmer Volumes
Shimmer Volumes are the DVDs produced by the all-female professional wrestling promotion Shimmer Women Athletes. Since 2005, it has had 86 releases, with the most recent releases (82-91) being two volume, two disc sets, representing one night of events each, a practice not done since the out of print special edition of volume 1-2. Each volume is intended for release on DVD but about five years behind the actual live dates, with many (including volumes 91, 100, and 109-113) appearing in Streaming VOD services in the meantime.
