Ananias Shikongo (born 25 April 1986) is a Paralympian athlete from Namibia competing mainly in category T11 short-distance events. He was born in 1986 and lives in Windhoek, Namibia. He shares a shack in the Katutura township with Paralympic silver medalist and school friend Johannes Nambala. Career Shikongo is Africa’s sprint champion in 100m and 200m in T11 (classification). He grew up in Okankolo Constituency, Oshikoto Region, in a village in proximity to the Angolan border. He lost his eyesight in both eyes in two separate incidents during his childhood. Ben Shikongo (born 8 May 2000) is a Namibian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Namibia in the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 8 February 2018. He was previously named in Namibia's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut for Namibia in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 11 February 2018. Joseph Shikongo
Lieutenant General Joseph Shimweelao Shikongo (born 18 September 1964) is a Namibian police officer currently serving as the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force. He was appointed by President Hage Geingob on 22 August 2022 and resumed his duty officially on 1 September 2022. Shikongo replaced the retired Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga. Early life Shikongo joined the armed struggle at the tender age of 14 in 1979, but because of his age he could not go through a military training. He was instead sent to Kwanza Sul in Angola and later transferred to Nyango in Zambia for his studies. Shikongo only received his military training beginning in 1983, learning war tactics and military skills at Tobias Hainyeko Military Training Center. Matheus Kristof Shikongo (26 June 1950 – 13 May 2021) was a Namibian politician and businessman. A member of SWAPO, Shikongo was the mayor of Windhoek, Namibia's capital, in 1993 and from 2000 to 2010. He helped establish the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) and served on the boards of several companies, among them NamPower, MetLife Namibia, and Bank Windhoek. Brigadier General Wilbard Shikongo is a retired Namibian military officer. His last command was as the Commandant of the Namibian Military School. Career His military career started in 1978 when he joined the People's Liberation Army of Namibia in exile. He received his basic military training and then specialized as a signaler at the Tobias Hainyeko Training Center in Lubango. In 1979 he was deployed to the Northern Front.
