Shevrin Jones
Shevrin D. Jones (born October 12, 1983) is an American politician from the state of Florida. He was elected to the Florida State Senate in 2020 to represent the 35th District. He previously was a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 101st District, which included southeastern Broward County since 2012. Jones is the first gay person and first LGBT Black person elected to the Florida Legislature. Term-limited from his position, he ran for the Florida Senate in a crowded primary for District 35 facing no Republican opposition in the general election. Personal life Jones was born in Miami Gardens, Florida. He attended Florida A&M University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2006. Oscar Braynon
Oscar Braynon, II (born February 1, 1977) is an American Democratic politician from Miami Gardens, Florida. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2008 to 2011 and then in the Florida Senate from 2011 to 2020, representing parts of southern Broward and northern Miami-Dade County. History Braynon was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and moved to Miami Gardens, Florida, where he attended North Miami Beach High School. During high school he served as Student Government Association Vice-President his junior year, followed by President for his senior year. He was also a sprinter on the school’s track team.
