Sherlock In Russia
''Sherlock in Russia'' (russian: Ше́рлок в России, Sherlok v Rossii, also known as Sherlock: The Russian Chronicles) is a Russian detective TV series based on Arthur Conan Doyle's stories about the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. This is the third Russian adaptation of the character and the first with original script. The series was released in October 2020 on the Start.ru streaming service. Synopsis Jack the Ripper leaves behind a trail of victims and escapes from London to Saint-Petersburg. Sherlock Holmes leaves Doctor Watson in Britain and goes after the deadly killer to Saint Petersburg. In Russia, he meets Doctor Kartsev, from whom he rents a living room. Dr. Kartsev starts helping him solve very strange, confusing, and complicated crimes, and Holmes is once again forced to convince law enforcement authorities of the correctness of his deductive methods of investigation. Nurbek Egen (Russian Нурбек Эген; born 3 December 1975) is a Kyrgyz and Russian film and TV director and screenwriter. His films have won two Young Artist Awards: his short film ''Sanzhyra'' as Best Short Foreign Film and his feature film The Wedding Chest as Outstanding International Drama. ''Attraction'' (russian: Притяжение, translit=Prityazhenie) is a 2017 Russian science fiction action film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk. The plot focuses upon an extraterrestrial spaceship crash-landing in the Chertanovo district of Moscow. The Russian government immediately implements martial law, as local civilians grow increasingly angry at their unwelcome guest. The film stars Irina Starshenbaum, Alexander Petrov, Rinal Mukhametov, and Oleg Menshikov. According to Bondarchuk, the movie is a social allegory.
