Shenley Green
Shenley Green is an area of Birmingham. It is located in the south-west of the city, between Weoley Castle and Northfield. Shenley Green was a post war development built on the location of Shendley Green Farm and by 1958 there were around 8,000 residents. The centre of Shenley Green comprises a shopping area, the Shenley Centre and St. David's Church. Weoley Castle
Weoley Castle is a residential suburban district in south-west Birmingham, England. The area is part of the Weoley local authority electoral ward, and also comes under the Northfield local council constituency. The suburb of Weoley Castle is bordered by Selly Oak to the east, Harborne to the north, Bartley Green to the west, and Weoley Hill and Shenley Fields to the south. Northfield, West Midlands
Northfield is a residential area in outer south Birmingham, England, and near the boundary with Worcestershire. It is also a council constituency, managed by its own district committee. The constituency includes the wards of Kings Norton, Longbridge, Weoley Castle and the smaller ward of Northfield that includes West Heath and Turves Green. Mentioned in the Domesday Book and formerly a small village, then included in north Worcestershire, Northfield became part of Birmingham in 1911 after it had been rapidly expanded and developed in the period prior to World War I. Bournville Village Trust
Bournville Village Trust is an organisation that was created to maintain and improve the suburb of Bournville, located in Birmingham. However, during the 20th century it expanded its geographical coverage to include developments in Shenley Green, Lightmoor in Telford, Bloomsbury in Nechells and Rowheath. History Elizabeth Cadbury succeeded her husband as chair of the Bournville Village Trust in 1922. In 1861, George Cadbury and his brother Richard, took over their father's small business, Cadburys, then based in central Birmingham. The business expanded into the manufacture of pure cocoa and then chocolate bars and filled chocolates. As the city premises was no longer large enough, the two brothers purchased land in the countryside, four miles out of Birmingham (at that time).
