Shenendehowa Central School District
The Shenendehowa Central School District, often shortened to Shen, is a public school district located in New York's Capital District. The district's main campus is located off NY 146 in Clifton Park, and is home to eight of the district's 12 schools, in five buildings. The remaining four schools are called "neighborhood elementary schools" and are located throughout the district in three buildings. The district serves approximately 9,800 students in grades K-12 from throughout its territory which includes the towns of Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Ballston Lake, Round Lake, Malta and parts of Waterford, Rexford, Mechanicville and Stillwater. New York State Route 146
New York State Route 146 (NY 146) is a state highway in the Capital District of New York in the United States. It extends for from Gallupville at NY 443 to near Mechanicville at U.S. Route 4 (US 4) and NY 32. NY 146 is a major thoroughfare in the city of Schenectady, just outside Albany. Most of the route follows an east–west alignment; however, the middle third of the route between Guilderland and Clifton Park runs in a more north–south manner in order to serve Schenectady. At one time, NY 146 had three spur routes; only one— NY 146A—still exists. NY 146 was assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York. At the time, NY 146 began at modern NY 443 in Berne and followed what is now NY 156 northeast to Altamont while modern NY 146 west of Altamont was part of NY 156. Interstate 87 (New York)
Interstate 87 (I-87) is a north–south Interstate Highway located entirely within the US state of New York. It is most of the main highway between New York City and Montreal. The highway begins at exit 47 off I-278 in the New York City borough of the Bronx, just north of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge and Grand Central Parkway. From there, the route runs northward through the Hudson Valley, the Capital District, and the easternmost part of the North Country to the Canadian border in the town of Champlain. Shenendehowa High School
Shenendehowa High School (often shortened to Shen High School) is a public high school in Clifton Park, New York, United States. It is part of the Shenendehowa Central School District. Students are separated between two buildings (East and West) by their grade levels. Both buildings are located on the district's main campus off of NY 146. The recently expanded East building houses 10th through 12th graders, while the West building houses only 9th graders. It is the largest public school district in a suburban area in New York State. History The original high school was built in the early 1950s, the building that is now Gowana and Acadia Middle Schools. Shenendehowa High School East began operation in 1970, teaching grades 9-12.
