Shem Ochuodho
Shem Ochuodho is a Kenyan politician. He represented Rangwe constituency in Homa-Bay County between 1997 and 2002 and later became a computer consultant. He also serves as the chair of Kenya Diaspora Association. Professional career He then worked for the Rwandan government in Kigali as ICT consultant for three years. He was the ICT Advisor to Rwanda’s Minister of State in charge of Energy and Communications and CEO of the Rwanda Information Technology Authority (RITA) Ochuodho was an ICT adviser to the South Sudan government based in Juba. In 2003, Ochuodho was appointed the MD of the Kenya Pipeline Company. Political career He was elected to parliament in 1997 on an NDP ticket beating the late Mrs Phelgona Okundi of KANU. Homa Bay County is a county in the former Nyanza Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Homa Bay. The county has a population of 1,131,950 (2019 census) and an area of 3,154.7 km2. National Rainbow Coalition
The National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) is a political party in Kenya. As an alliance, it was in power from 2002 and 2005 when it collapsed due to disagreements between members over a constitutional referendum. Formation In preparation of the 2002 elections, the National Alliance Party of Kenya (Formerly NAK now NAPK) allied itself with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) to form the National Alliance of Rainbow Coalition (NARC). On December 27, 2002, NARC won a landslide victory over KANU. NARC presidential candidate Mwai Kibaki got 62% of the votes in the presidential elections, against only 31% for the KANU candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta. Safina
Safina ( in Swahili) is a political party in Kenya, founded by palaeoanthropologist and conservationist Richard Leakey together with lawyer Paul Muite. History In May 1995, Richard Leakey joined some Kenyan intellectuals in launching a new political party. The Safina party was routinely harassed and even its application to become an official political party was not approved until 1997. That year, international donor institutions froze their aid to Kenya because of widespread corruption. To placate the donors, Daniel arap Moi appointed Leakey as Cabinet Secretary and head of the civil service in 1999. Leakey's second stint in the civil service lasted two years.
