Shelton Perera
Thotagamage Shelton Perera (20 March 1939 – 18 September 1986), was a Sri Lankan musician and a singer. Started as a tabla player, Perera became one of the most influential singers in Sri Lankan classical music industry. He is also a prolific percussionist as well as a film composer. Personal life Shelton Perera was born on 20 March 1939 in Colombo as the second of the family. Hailed from an artistic background, his father was Thotagamage Wilbert Perera, who was a famous Tower Hall artist as well as A-grade singer in Radio Ceylon. Wilbert Perera's play began with the Vittachchi Tourist Dance Company, organized by Joseph de Silva and Vittachchi. He then joined the Tower Hall Ariya Sinhala Drama Council and performed in stage plays. Madan Mohan Kohli (25 June 1924 – 14 July 1975), better known as Madan Mohan, was an Indian music director of the 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s. He is considered one of the most melodious and skilled music directors of the Hindi film industry. He is particularly remembered for the immortal ghazals he composed for Hindi films. Wanniarachchige Malini Senehelatha Fonseka, popularly as Malini Fonseka ( Sinhala:මාලිනී ෆොන්සේකා) (born 30 April 1947, in Kelaniya) is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television as well as a director. Often considered as the "Queen of Sinhalese cinema", Fonseka first became widely known when she won the 'Best Actress Award' at the 1969 National State Drama Festival. Karunaratne Abeysekera
Karunaratne Abeysekera (3 June 1930 – 20 April 1983) was one of Sri Lanka's most famous Sinhala broadcasters. He was also a poet and songwriter and was widely admired for his excellent command of Sinhala. Abeysekera wrote the lyrics to over 2,000 songs, a record for a lyricist in Sri Lanka. His compositions are still covered by some of the island's top musicians to this day, introducing his lyrics to new audiences in South Asia, and his songs are played regularly by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. Dommie Jayawardena, (25 June 1927 – 28 December 1979 as :si:ඩොමී ජයවර්ධන, ඩොමී ජයවර්ධන in Sinhala language, Sinhala) was a Sri Lankan actor and singer. Kalyanji–Anandji are an Indian composer duo: Kalyanji Virji Shah (30 June 1928 – 24 August 2000) and his brother Anandji Virji Shah (born 2 March 1933). The duo are known for their work on Hindi film soundtracks, with many evergreen songs being composed by them.
