''Shelley!'' is the self-titled debut pop album by singer and actress Shelley Fabares released in 1962 on Colpix Records. It was available in both monaural, mono and stereophonic sound, stereo, catalogue numbers CP-426 and SCP-426. The album was produced and arranged by Stu Phillips (composer), Stu Phillips and recorded at United Western Recorders in Hollywood, California. ''Shelley!'' peaked on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' Top LPs chart at No. 106 in July 1962. The album includes the hit single, "Johnny Angel", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in April 1962. ''Shelley!'' features a guest appearance by Paul Petersen on the track "Very Unlikely". The backup vocals were performed by the girl group The Blossoms. Shelley Fabares
Michele Ann Marie "Shelley" Fabares (; born January 19, 1944) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her television roles as Mary Stone on the sitcom '' The Donna Reed Show'' (1958–1963) and as Christine Armstrong on the sitcom ''Coach'' (1989–97), the latter of which earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. In 1962, her recording of " Johnny Angel" reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Biography Early life Fabares was born in Santa Monica, California on January 19, 1944. She is the niece of actress Nanette Fabray (née Fabares). She graduated from North Hollywood High School in 1961. Her father was James Alan Fabares, who was born in Algiers, New Orleans on 2 August 1909, and died in Los Angeles on 10 December 1977, and her mother was Elsa R. The Donna Reed Show
''The Donna Reed Show'' is an American sitcom starring Donna Reed as the middle-class housewife Donna Stone. Carl Betz co-stars as her pediatrician husband Dr. Alex Stone, and Shelley Fabares and Paul Petersen as their teenage children, Mary and Jeff. The show originally aired on ABC from September 24, 1958, to March 19, 1966. Background The series was created by William S. Roberts and developed by Reed and her then husband, producer Tony Owen. Episodes revolved around typical family problems of the period such as firing a clumsy housekeeper, throwing a retirement bash for a colleague, and finding quality time away from the children. Collectables is a reissue record label founded in 1980 by Jerry Greene. Jerry Greene formed Lost Nite and Crimson record labels. Soul Survivors gained the hit "Expressway to Your Heart" (1967) while on Crimson Records. The compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings.
