Sheila Ruth
Sheila S. Ruth (born October 22, 1963) is an American politician who represents district 44B, based in Baltimore County, in the Maryland House of Delegates. Career Following her graduation from University of Maryland University College in 1987, Ruth became a publishing systems programmer for Attis Publishing Services from 1987 to 1989 and a computer specialist for the U.S. Government Accountability Office from 1989 to 1992. Afterwards, she became a computer analyst for Villa Julie College from 1992 to 1994. She would receive a B.S. degree from Villa Julie College in 1995. She later worked as a website developer in the same year, and as a website technologies instructor in 1999. Following her graduation, Ruth became a self-employed website developer. She has served as the president of Imaginator Press since 2003 and is the current vice president of Cybils Awards. Maryland House of Delegates District 44 is one of 47 legislative districts in the state of Maryland and is one of the 5 located entirely within Baltimore City and part of Baltimore County. Voters in this district selected three Delegates every four years to represent them in the Maryland House of Delegates. After the 2010 Census, the district was divided into two sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: District 44A and District 44B. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 114,562, of whom 89,485 (78.1%) were of voting age. The Cybils Awards, or Children's and Young Adult Bloggers' Literary Awards, are a set of annual book awards given by people who blog about children's and young-adult books. Co-founded by Kelly Herold and Anne Boles Levy in 2006, the awards were created to address an apparent gap between perceived as too elitist and other awards that did not seem selective enough. Our Revolution (sometimes known by its initials OR) is an American progressive political action organization spun out of Senator Bernie Sanders's 2016 presidential campaign to continue its work. The organization's mission is to educate voters about issues, get people involved in the political process, and work to organize and elect progressive candidates. ''Our Revolution'' is also the title of a book by Sanders released in November 2016. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the governing body of the United States Democratic Party. The committee coordinates strategy to support Democratic Party candidates throughout the country for local, state, and national office, as well as works to establish a "party brand". Kathleen Ann Matthews (née Cunningham; born August 9, 1953) is the former chief communications and public affairs officer for hotel company Marriott International. Prior to joining Marriott International, she was a reporter for 25 years at WJLA-TV. States Newsroom is a U.S. tax-exempt organization that serves as an umbrella organization for state-focused news outlets with progressive editorial outlooks. Launched in 2019, it began as a sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, a left-leaning nonprofit that does not disclose its donors.
