Sheikhan (Punjabi Shahmukhi: ) (Punjabi Gurmukhi: ) (Hindi: ) City is situated in District Chiniot in Punjab province of Pakistan. Geography Southern side The village Sheikhan is situated some distance from the right bank of the river Chenab (Chanhan) in the Utar region which flows in the southeast of the village. A rain pond is also located a half-mile from the village on the southern side, called Sangar. Northern side On the north side, a canal flowing from the river Jehlum (Vehat) provides water to village lands for cultivation. Most of the population lives in old villages, while a colony was also settled by prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in the 1970s for non-landowners. A number of the population also lives on the north side crossing the canal after the development of a link road between Jhang and Lalian, which is called Adda Sheikhan. Lalian ( pa, لالیاں) is a city in the Chiniot District of Punjab province, in Pakistan. It is located at 31°49'21N 72°47'50E with an altitude of 171 metres (564 feet) and is situated on the Faisalabad-to- Sargodha road. According to the census of 1998, Lalian holds total population of 90,000. The total number of households was 4436. History Initially this place was a village with land mainly owned by Lali clan, and a place where different sub tribes of Lali clan used to reside., family of Lali clan is currently a politically powerful family of the area. Bhawana (also spelled as Bhowana) ( pa, , ur, ) is a city and capital of Bhawana Tehsil of Chiniot District in Punjab, Pakistan.
