The Sheekhaal (var. Sheikhaal ( ar, شيخال), also known as Fiqi Omar, is a Somali clan. They inhabit Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti and with considerable numbers also found in the Northern Frontier District (NFD) in Kenya. Overview Sheekhal traces its ancestry to Sheikh Abadir Umar Ar-Rida, also known as ''Fiqi Umar'', who in turn traced his lineage to the first caliph, Abu Bakr (Sayid Abubakar Al-Sadiq). Major General Dahir Adan Elmi ( so, Daahir Aadan Cilmi, ar, ضاهر عدن علمي), also known as Dahir Aden Indha Qarshe, is a Somali military general. He is the former chief of the Somali Army. General Dahir Adan Elmi hails from Sheekhaal clan. Career Ogaden campaign General Elmi led armored Somali National Army (SNA) battalions in the Qabri Dahare Front during the late 1970s Ogaden campaign. Qabri Dahare was the second city to fall during the offensive. The war was part of a broader SNA plan to unite all of the Somali-inhabited territories in the Horn region into a Greater Somalia (''Soomaaliweyn''). Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir
Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir, (aka ''Abu - Camaar''), commonly known only as Fahad Yasin, is a Somali civil servant and politician, as well as a former journalist. He was also the campaign manager for Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed "Farmaajo" in the 2017 elections. After the elections, he was appointed Chief of Staff for Villa Somalia and then Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA). Farmaajo subsequently appointed him as his national security advisor. Background According to his Somali and Kenyan documents, Yasin was born in Mandera, Kenya on 19 July 1978 to a family of the Reer Aw Xasan clan. Major General Mohammed Hussein Ali ( so, Maxamed Xuseen Cali; born 1956 in Eldoret) is a Kenyan military commander. He was formerly commissioner of the Kenya Police. He is currently chief executive of the Postal Corporation of Kenya. Early life Ali's family belongs to the Sheekhaal, an ethnic Somali clan. Ali went to Uasin Gishu High School and then proceeded to Kolanya Boys' High School in Busia District.
