Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain
Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain (born 2 March 1962) is a Bangladeshi justice of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He is famous for delivering all his verdicts in the Bengali language. He was appointed in 2010. Early life Hossain was born on 2 March 1962. He is law graduate from the University of Dhaka. Career Hossain was enrolled as an advocate of the District Court on 5 October 1988 and the High Court Division of the Supreme Court on 17 July 1993. Hossain was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court Division on 18 April 2010. Hossain and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik issued a Sua sponte order in August 2010 that declared no one could be forced to wear the veil following a news report that said Rani Bhabani Mahila College would not allow female students without the veil to attend. Barapukuria Coal Mine is run by the Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Limited. Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Limited is a subsidiary of the state owned Petrobangla. The mine is located at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur. This is the lone active coal mine in Bangladesh. History In Pre-partition era of British India, coal from Garo hills of Meghalaya was transported and traded through East Bengal. Mining offices opened in Dhaka and trade was aided by British Rail network in India. In 1961 UN-Pak Mineral Survey Project started surveys in then East Pakistan (today Bangladesh) by Geological Survey of Pakistan. In 1962 the survey found 1.05 million ton of coal in Jamalganj, Sunamganj District. The next big discovery came in 1985 when Geological Survey of Bangladesh discovered coal in Dinajpur. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (born 26 January 1948) is a Bangladeshi politician. He has been the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 2016. He was a member of the parliament for Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2001 to 2006.
