Sheida Gharachedaghi
Sheida Gharachedaghi ( fa, شیدا قرچه‌داغی) is a Persian-Canadian composer and Music education, music educator, based in Montreal. Life and career Born in Tehran in 1941, Sheida Gharachedaghi studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Vienna Music Academy in Austria and in 1971 established the Music Department at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Tehran. Shortly after the Iranian Revolution, 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran Gharachedaghi moved to Germany and later settled in Canada. ''The Fairies'' In 1989 Sheida Gharachedaghi wrote an opera based on the English translation of Ahmad Shamlu's ''The Fairies''. The opera premiered at Metropolitan Convention Centre in Toronto in 1989. The CD of 1989 - live performance of this opera released in Europe in July 2020, on the 20th anniversary of Shamlu's death. ''Chess of the Wind'' ( fa, شطرنج باد, Shatranj-e Baad) also titled ''The Chess Game of the Wind'' is a 1976 Iranian film written and directed by Mohammad Reza Aslani. This film was screened only once before the 1979 revolution in Iran and was accompanied by negative reception. But after being rediscovered in 2020, the film was released in different countries and was well received. Synopsis In an aristocratic family, the head of the family - Khanom Bozorg - dies. Her heir is Khanom Kouchak, a paralyzed girl. There is a dispute between the Khanom Kouchak, the maid, the nanny and the stepfather's nephews over the possession of the family wealth.
