Shegaon Assembly Constituency
Shegaon Assembly constituency was one of the constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha in the Buldhana district during 1967 and 1972 State elections. It was established in 1951 as then Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) constituency located in Buldhana district. However it was dissolved for 1957 elections to Bombay state and 1962 elections to Maharashtra. Since 1978 elections it does not exist and Jalamb Assembly constituency was re-established for the elections from 1978 till 2004. Buldhana District
Buldhana district (Marathi pronunciation: ulɖʰaːɳa is located in the Amravati division of Maharashtra, India. It is situated at the western border of Vidarbha region and is 500 km away from the state capital, Mumbai. The district has towns and cities like Shegaon, Jalgaon Jamod, Malkapur, Khamgaon, Lonar, Mehkar, and Chikhli. It is surrounded by Madhya Pradesh in the north, Akola, Washim, and Amravati districts on the east, Jalna district on the south, and Jalgaon and Aurangabad districts on the west. Khamgaon is the largest city in the district. Latitudes are 19.51° to 21.17° N and longitudes are 75.57° to 76.59° E. Buldhana district holds religious significance as it is the site of the Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple, Shegaon. Jalgaon (Jamod) Assembly constituency is a constituency of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha. It located in the Buldhana district. It is a part of the Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency. The Malkapur Assembly constituency in Buldhana district is a part of Raver from the neighbouring Jalgaon district. As of 2008, the constituency includes Sangrampur tehsil, Jalgaon(Jamod) tehsil and part of Shegaon tehsil, consisting of Shegaon and Manasgaon revenue circles and Shegaon Municipal Council. The remaining part of Shegaon tehsil is in Khamgaon Assembly constituency. Jalamb is one of the constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha in the Buldhana district during 1957-1962 and 1978-to-2004 State elections.
