Riley Michael Sheahan (born December 7, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for EHC Biel of the National League (NL). He was drafted 21st overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Sheahan has previously played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres and Seattle Kraken. John Sheahan
John Sheahan (born 19 May 1939) is an Irish musician and composer. He joined The Dubliners in 1964 and played with them until 2012 when The Dubliners' name was retired following the death of founding member Barney McKenna. Early years and musical apprenticeship John Sheahan was born in Dublin on 19 May 1939. His father, a native of Glin, County Limerick, was a member of the Garda Síochána (the Irish Police Force) stationed in Dublin. He is the great-nephew of Patrick Sheahan, a Dublin Metropolitan Policeman, who in 1905 died trying to save the life of a pipe workman who was overcome by toxic exhalations in a sewer on Hawkins Street, Dublin, where a memorial statue stands today. Michael Sheahan (born 4 March 1947) is an Australian journalist who specialises in Australian rules football. He was chief football writer and associate sports editor for the ''Herald Sun'' for 18 years. Although he left these positions at the end of 2011, he still writes special columns for the newspaper, including his yearly "Top 50" player list. He was also a panelist on the Fox Footy program '' On the Couch'' and former media director for the Australian Football League (AFL, formerly VFL). Kate Sheahan (born 9 January 1982) is the AFLW (Australian Football League Women) football operations manager, a professional tennis coach noted for helping Daria Gavrilova return from a knee injury, and a former Australian rules football player who played for in the 2017 AFL Women's season. She is the daughter of sports journalist Mike Sheahan. Sheahan played Australian football until she was fourteen as the only girl in a boys' league. She returned to football in 2005, but again ceased playing to concentrate on her tennis career after breaking her wrist while playing for Melbourne University Mugars in the Victorian Women's Football League. William Francis Sheahan (3 September 1895 – 27 December 1975) also known as Bill Sheahan or Billy Sheahan, was an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Early life Born in Tumut, New South Wales, the son of the publicans of the hotel at Jugiong, Sheahan attended schools in Tumut and St Patrick's College, Goulburn. Sheahan gained work as a clerk in the Crown Law Department in 1914 before enlisting in the Australian Imperial Force in 1916, serving in France and Flanders. Following World War I, Sheahan returned to the Crown Law Department, working there until 1930, when he received a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney and established a large criminal law practice. Frankie Sheahan (born August 27, 1976) is a retired professional Irish rugby union player. During his career, Sheahan played for Munster from 1996 until 2009 and for Ireland from 2000 until 2007. Maurice Edward Sheahan (1905-1956) was an Australian rules footballer who played in the VFL between 1929 and 1936 for the Richmond Football Club. Originally from Ballarat, Sheahan was already twenty-three when he joined the Tigers, but his hard and tough defensive play transformed a team renowned for its attacking power in the 1920s into a rock-like defensive unit that defied the powerful attacks of Collingwood and later South Melbourne to make the Grand Final every year from 1931 to 1934 and have the meanest defence every year from 1932 to 1935. Andrew Paul Sheahan (born 30 September 1946) is a former Australian international cricketer who played 31 Test matches and three One Day Internationals as an opening and middle order batsman between 1967 and 1973. He made his first-class debut in 1965 for the Victorian Sheffield Shield team against New South Wales scoring 62 and 5. An elegant stroke maker and fine cover fieldsman, his highest first-class score was 202 for Victoria against South Australia in 1966. Terence William "Terry" Sheahan, AO (born 18 August 1947) is an Australian judge and former politician. He was the Labor member for Burrinjuck in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1988, and held various ministerial portfolios (including Attorney General of New South Wales) between 1980 and 1988. On 9 April 1997 he was appointed to a judge on the New South Wales Land and Environment Court, and in 2019 retired from this role. He is the current patron of ADRA - Australian Dispute Resolution Association, a professional mediation association and accreditation body. William Peter Sheahan (born 12 December 1953) is an Australian cricket umpire who umpired Test cricket in the 1990s. Sheahan began umpiring Victorian grade cricket in the early 1980s when an injury ended his playing career. He umpired two Test matches in the 1993/94 season. His first match was between Australia and New Zealand at Bellerive Oval, Hobart on 26 to 29 November 1993, won by Australia by an innings and 222 runs, with Michael Slater, David Boon and Mark Waugh scoring centuries, and Shane Warne and Tim May taking 9 and 7 wickets respectively. Tom Sheahan (born 5 September 1968) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician who served as a Senator for the Administrative Panel from 2011 to 2016 and a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Kerry South constituency from 2007 to 2011.
