''She Will Have Her Way'' is a compilation album featuring female Australians, Australian and New Zealand musicians performing songs written by Neil Finn and Tim Finn (The Finn Brothers), members of Split Enz and Crowded House. A follow up album, ''He Will Have His Way'', featuring male artists, was released in 2010. Background The album takes its name from Neil Finn's single "She Will Have Her Way (song), She Will Have Her Way" from ''Try Whistling This'', however the song does not appear on this album, nor does any other from Neil Finn's solo career. The album is a mixture of songs previously recorded for prior releases (such as "Better Be Home Soon") and some recorded specifically for the project ("Distant Sun," "Fall at Your Feet," "Stuff and Nonsense" etc.). "Not the Girl You Think You Are" is a 1996 song by rock group Crowded House. It was the third and final single released from the group's greatest hits compilation ''Recurring Dream'' (1996). According to the songwriter Neil Finn, the song was written as both his homage to The Beatles and his attempt at writing a song like them. It reached No. 37 on the ARIA Singles Chart, No. 41 in New Zealand, and No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart. Finn mentioned on Twitter in 2016 that the song was recorded using an Optigan. "Distant Sun" is a song by New Zealand and Australian band Crowded House. It was the first single released from the group's fourth studio album, ''Together Alone'' (1993). The song gave the band another top-20 hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 19, but fell shy of the mark in Australia at number 23. It was also a top-five hit in Canada and New Zealand, reaching numbers four and five, respectively. In March 1994, a remixed version of "Distant Sun" was released in the United States, reaching number 26 on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Alternative Songs, Modern Rock Tracks chart. Kasey Chambers
Kasey Chambers (born 4 June 1976) is an Australian country singer-songwriter and musician born in Mount Gambier. She is the daughter of fellow musicians, Diane and Bill Chambers, and the younger sister of musician and producer, Nash Chambers. All four were members of family country music group in Dead Ringer Band, in Bowral, New South Wales, from 1992 to 1998, with Chambers starting her solo career thereafter. "Better Be Home Soon" () is a song written by Neil Finn and performed by rock band Crowded House. It appears on their second studio album, ''Temple of Low Men'', which was later released in July 1988. The song was issued as a single in June 1988 by Capitol Records, peaking at number two on the Australian and New Zealand charts and reaching number 42 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Little Birdy were an Australian alternative rock band formed in Perth, Western Australia, in 2002 by singer and guitarist Katy Steele, drummer Matt Chequer, guitarist and keyboardist Simon Leach, and bass guitarist Scott O'Donoghue. Goldenhorse are a pop band from New Zealand. Release Goldenhorse's debut album ''Riverhead'' was released in October 2002, to a small fanfare. But over the next 18 months various singles from the album started to be played on the radio. Clare Bowditch (born 1975) is an Australian musician, actress, radio presenter and business entrepreneur.
