Shaw Classic
The Shaw Classic is a strongman competition run and hosted by four-time World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw, who won the inaugural competition in 2020. The second edition of the contest had 16 athletes with backgrounds from Europe and North America. The total prize pool in 2020 was $53,900. In 2021 the prize pool increased to $100,000 and in 2022 the prize pool increased to $150,000. In 2023 Brian Shaw changed the name of the Shaw Classic Pro Competition to Strongest Man on Earth after acquiring the trademark off of Paul Ohl the organiser of the Fortissimus The Fortissimus is a defunct event in strength athletics. Brian Shaw (born February 26, 1982) is an American professional strongman, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest strength athletes of all-time. He won the 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016 World's Strongest Man competitions, and in 2011, became the first man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World's Strongest Man competitions in the same calendar year, a feat he replicated in 2015. In the 19th century, the term strongman referred to an exhibitor of strength or similar circus performers who performed feats of strength. More recently, strength athletics, also known as strongman competitions, have grown in popularity. These competitions are now composed of a variety of events in which competitors have to move the highest weights possible, the winner being the one having the highest tally across all events. Gavin Bilton
Gavin “The Bull” Bilton (born 23 October 1988) is a professional strongman from Wales and a two-time winner of the UK's Strongest Man competition. He is one of the all time heaviest strongmen in the world, weighing in at 215 kg (474 lbs) during his peak. Bilton grew up in Caerphilly and attended Bedwas Infants School, Bedwas Junior School and Bedwas High School. Before becoming a professional strongman, Bilton served for 13 years in the Welsh Guards, completing two tours in Afghanistan and acting as a Queen's Guard at Buckingham Palace. Graham Hicks (born 15 November 1985 in Morecambe, Lancashire) is an English strongman and powerlifter. He won the 2019 Britain's Strongest Man competition and placed second in 2014 and 2018. Konstantine Janashia (born 30 August 1990) is a pro-strongman from Georgia. In 2016, Janashia became the first Georgian to reach the World's Strongest Man final, where he placed fourth.
