Shaving Peaches
''Shaving Peaches'' is the fourth album by Terrorvision. Released in 1998 as the follow-up to ''Regular Urban Survivors'', it found the band heading in a more chart-orientated pop direction with co-production from Edwyn Collins. Here, the band push their sound further than before, veering away from metal towards a soft rock sound that uses actual electronic beats. Tracks such as "Day After Day" and "When I Die" retain the melancholy that featured on earlier albums, whilst the rest of the album follows the template of the positive and upbeat single, "Tequila". ''TerrorVision'' is a 1986 American science fiction horror comedy film directed by Ted Nicolaou, produced and written by Albert and Charles Band and composed by Richard Band, all of whom would go on to found and work with Full Moon Features in 1989. ''TerrorVision'' was made by Empire International Pictures, the production company owned by Charles Band prior to Full Moon, and was released in February 1986. Britpop
Britpop was a mid-1990s British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. It produced brighter, catchier alternative rock, partly in reaction to the popularity of the darker lyrical themes of the US-led grunge music and to the UK's own shoegaze music scene. The movement brought British alternative rock into the mainstream and formed the backbone of a larger British popular cultural movement, Cool Britannia, which evoked the Swinging Sixties and the British guitar pop of that decade. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. ''Regular Urban Survivors'' is the third album by the British rock band Terrorvision. "Perseverance", "Easy", "Bad Actress" and "Celebrity Hit List" were each released as singles. "Perseverance" and "Celebrity Hit List" were both regular Match of the Day 'goal of the week' regulars. The album featured movie-themed artwork, which depicted the band members as part of a ''James Bond''/'' Mission: Impossible''-style elite fighting force. To mark the 20th anniversary of the album's release, the band performed ''Regular Urban Survivors'' in full during their 2016 UK tour. Production ''Regular Urban Survivors'' was recorded at Parkgate Studios and Eden Studios, with producer Gil Norton; he and Roy Spong acted as engineers, with assistance from Doug Cook (at Parkgate) and Simon Wall (at Eden). ''Good to Go'' is Terrorvision's final studio album, prior to their breakup in 2001. The sound of this album continues the band's musical evolution, with more electronic instruments and effects than previous albums. Edwyn Collins
Edwyn Stephen Collins (born 23 August 1959) is a Scottish musician, producer and record label owner from Edinburgh, Scotland. Collins was the lead singer for the 1980s post-punk band Orange Juice, which he co-founded. After the group split in 1985, Collins started a solo career. His 1995 single " A Girl Like You" was a worldwide hit. In February 2005, Collins was hospitalised after two cerebral haemorrhages which resulted in aphasia, and he needed months to recover. He resumed his musical career in 2007. A documentary film on his recovery, ''The Possibilities Are Endless'', was released in 2014. Tequila (Terrorvision Song)
"Tequila" is a song by English rock band Terrorvision, written by the band and Chuck Rio and produced by Scottish musician Edwyn Collins. The song originally appeared on the band's fourth studio album, '' Shaving Peaches'' (1998), and was released as the album's second single on 18 January 1999. For the single release, English music producer Mint Royale remixed the track. These remixes were heavily championed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zoe Ball, allowing the song to reach number two on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Terrorvision's highest-charting song in the UK. In 1999, the song won the Kerrang! Award for Best Single.
