Shauna Thomas (born August 9, 1966), known as Shauna de Cartier, is Six Shooter Records’ founder and president, a Toronto-based indie label that provides artist management, production and sales of music, festival production, concert promotion and song publishing. She is recognized for her artist-centric business model, committed to boundary-pushing artistic development with career artists. De Cartier holds an MBA from the University of Alberta. Six Shooter Records
Six Shooter Records is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that uses an artist-centric business model, focusing on art before commerce combined with extensive touring. Six Shooter Records was founded in 2000 by Shauna de Cartier. The mission statement of the company is, ''Life is Too Short to Listen to Shitty Music.'' In addition to production and sales of music, the company is involved in artist management, festival production, concert promotion and song publishing. The management arm of the company is run by de Cartier and partner Helen Britton. Notable festivals include the Interstellar Rodeo (Edmonton: 2012–2019 and Winnipeg: 2015-2017) and the Sleepwalker Guitar Festival (Toronto). Bernie Finkelstein
Bernard Finkelstein (born August 12, 1944 in Toronto) is a Canadian music executive and talent manager.McPherson, David, "Bernie Finkelstein's Golden Mountain", ''Words and Music'', Fall 2012 Finkelstein began his career in music as the manager of The Paupers from 1966 to 1967 and Kensington Market from 1967 to 1969. In 1969, Finkelstein founded True North Records. The first artist signed to the label in 1969 was Bruce Cockburn. Through 1972–1981, in partnership with Bernie Fiedler, he managed the careers of Ronney Abramson, Bruce Cockburn, Murray McLauchlan and Dan Hill. In 1970, he and Cockburn became partners in the music publishing firm Golden Mountain Music. Americana Music Association
The Americana Music Association is a not-for-profit trade organization advocating for American Roots Music around the world. It is a network for Americana artists, radio stations, record labels, publishers, and others with the goal of developing an infrastructure that will boost visibility and economic viability. Additionally, the organization works to increase brand recognition of Americana music and its artists.
