Sharujan Shanmuganathan
Sharujan Shanmuganathan (born 25 April 2006) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He plays age-group cricket representing Sri Lanka national under-19 cricket team. Biography He rose to prominence and limelight at an early age due to his stroke-making abilities being compared to those of veteran former Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara. It was during a test match that was played between Sri Lanka and Australia in 2011 on Sri Lankan soil that he caught the attention of viewers when his free-flowing, elegant cover drive became a talking point as it was captured by one of the cameramen during the course of the test match. Sharujan was only five-years-old when he received recognition for playing cover drives, and commentator Tony Greig, who was named as one of the commentators for the test match, reportedly spotted him playing at the grass bank of the Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground. Nugegoda Sports And Welfare Club
Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club is a multi-faceted Sri Lankan club founded in 1870. It is based in the Colombo suburb of Athurugiriya which is just to the north of Nugegoda. It is best known for its first-class cricket team which was formed before the 2013–14 season when it took part in the second-class Donovan Andree Tournament. Ahead of the 2019–20 season, Nugegoda were elevated to first-class, List A and Twenty20 status. They played in Tier B of the Premier League Tournament, the Invitation Limited Overs Tournament and the SLC T20 Tournament. The team played its inaugural first-class match on 31 January and 1 February 2020 against Kalutara Town Club at the Arons Cricket Club Ground in Horana. The 2024 ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup is an international limited-overs cricket tournament that is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in 2024. 2023 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup
2023 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup was the tenth edition of the ACC Under-19 Cup, a limited overs cricket tournament featuring eight under-19 teams. It was scheduled to played between 8 and 17 December 2023. The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council are taking part in the tournament: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They joined by the top three ranked teams Nepal, United Arab Emirates and Japan. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to take place in Pakistan but it was shifted to United Arab Emirates later.
