Sharon Maughan
Sharon Patricia Maughan (born 22 June 1950) is a British actress. Early life Sharon Mughan grew up in Kirkby, Lancashire, with her four siblings. She later changed her surname to "Maughan". Career Upon graduating from RADA, Maughan gained her Equity Card while playing Ophelia in an Open University tour of ''Hamlet''. She then did rep at the Liverpool Playhouse and Chester, and won her first television opportunity in Philip Mackie's ''The Organisation'', starring Peter Egan. This led to episodes of ''The Last of the Baskets'' with Patricia Hayes, then Justice with Margaret Lockwood. In 1973, Maughan was chosen for the role of Rachel Rosing in a Granada Television serialisation of Howard Spring's novel, ''Shabby Tiger''. Maughan immediately went on to work with Elaine Stritch, playing the title role in ''If You Knew Susie'', which was part of the TV series ''Dial M For Murder''. West Derby
West Derby ( ) is an affluent suburb of Liverpool, England. It is located East of the city and is also a Liverpool City Council ward. At the 2011 Census, the population was 14,382. ''The Flame Trees of Thika'' is a British television serial of seven 50-minute episodes made by Euston Films for Thames Television in 1981. Colin George Blakely (23 September 1930 – 7 May 1987) was a Northern Irish actor. The Main Chance
''The Main Chance'' is a British television series first aired on ITV in four series between 1969 and 1975. It is a drama series that depicts the sudden transformation in the life of a solicitor, David Main (played by John Stride), after he moves from London to Leeds. It was created by Edmund Ward and John Malcolm; the latter was a pseudonym for John Batt who was a practising solicitor. Batt also composed the theme music. John Stride
John Edward Stride (11 July 1936 – 20 April 2018) was an English actor best known for his television work in the 1970s. Stride was born in London, the son of Margaret (née Prescott) and Alfred Teneriffe Stride. He attended Alleyn's School, Dulwich, and trained at RADA, where he met his first wife, Virginia Stride (''née'' Thomas). He made his first, uncredited, screen appearance in the film, ''Sink the Bismarck!'' (1960). He also played the role of Bob, the barman, in the film '' Bitter Harvest'' (1963), based on the trilogy '' 20,000 Streets Under the Sky'' by Patrick Hamilton. The Lyric Theatre is a West End theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue in the City of Westminster. It was built for the producer Henry Leslie, who financed it from the profits of the light opera hit, '' Dorothy'', which he transferred from its original venue to open the new theatre on 17 December 1888.
