Shantikunj is a religious tourist attraction in Haridwar and also the headquarters of All World Gaytri Pariwar. History Shantikunj was established in 1971 by Shriram Sharma and Bhagwati Devi Sharma on a small piece of land. It was expanded over Gayatri Nagar. Haridwar (; ) is a city and municipal corporation in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand, India. Shriram Sharma was an Indian author and freedom fighter. He founded All World Gayatri Pariwar and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. He praised the significance of Gayatri Mantra. He is the writer of more than three thousand booklets. Personal life He was born on September 20, 1911, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He wanted the betterment and upliftment of society. Bhagwati Devi Sharma was an Indian social reformer who was the co-founder of AWGP and patron founder of Akhand Jyoti. Personal life Sharma married Shriram Sharma in 1946.
