Shant TV
Shant TV (Armenian: Շանթ հեռուստատեսություն) is a private television broadcasting company in Armenia. Shant TV was founded by Arthur Yezekyan in Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia, in 1994. Shant TV launched a full 6 hour broadcasting schedule in May 1995. History The station was founded at a time of hunger for information programs and social tension in the country. This is the main reason why the newly founded TV company began specializing in the production of news and information programs from its beginning. In 2001, Shant TV moved to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, and gained popularity and trust over the next three years. It started regular broadcasting, also in 2001. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Hay Superstar / Hye Superstar (Հայ Սուպերսթար) is the Armenian version of the British television hit show ''Pop Idol''. It is a talent contest to find the best young singer in Armenia. Summary Season 1 (2006) Auditions were held in Gyumri; Vanadzor; Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Yerevan. The panel of judges for the show consists of Michael Poghosyan, Egor Glumov and Naira Gurjianyan. The first season was aired on Shant from March to late July 2006, the second season started in November 2006 to early April 2007. Season three ran exactly one year later. After a break of one year, the competition returned with a fourth season from November 2009 to March 2010. The first ever season of Hay Superstar was won by Susanna Petrosyan.
