Paul Shanley
Paul Richard Shanley (January 25, 1931 – October 28, 2020) was an American Roman Catholic priest who became the center of a massive sexual abuse scandal in the Archdiocese of Boston in Massachusetts. Beginning in 1967, the archdiocese covered up numerous allegations of child sexual assault against Shanley and facilitated his transfers to other states. Shanley was convicted of child rape and removed from the priesthood in 2004. Shanley appealed his conviction in 2007 based on questions about the validity of repressed memories, but his conviction was upheld. Gib Shanley (August 6, 1931 – April 6, 2008) was an American sportscaster, most prominently known as sports director for ABC affiliate WEWS-TV, Channel 5 in Cleveland, Ohio, and as the longtime play-by-play announcer for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). Frank Shanley
Francis Shanley (1889 – 4 July 1917) was an English amateur footballer who made one appearance in the Football League for Preston North End as a goalkeeper. Personal life Shanley had two brothers and prior to the First World War, he worked as an attendant at the Whittingham Asylum. In May 1915, 9 months after Britain's entry into the First World War, Shanley enlisted as a private in the Gordon Highlanders. He was posted to the Western Front in June 1916 and one month later was evacuated back to Britain with a gunshot wound to the right knee. Shanley returned to the front in April 1917 and received multiple gunshot wounds to the back in the Ypres Salient on 3 July 1917. Dromod () is a village in County Leitrim, Ireland. Dromod is a noted fishing village beside Bofin and Boderg, which are threaded by the River Shannon.
