Shangrilá is a coastal resort or residential neighbourhood of the Ciudad de la Costa in the Canelones Department of Uruguay. Location This neighborhood is located on the western area of Ciudad de la Costa, at east of the centre of Montevideo on Avenida Giannattasio. It borders Parque Carrasco to the west, San José de Carrasco to the east, the Rio de la Plata to the south and Avenida Giannattasio to the north. Ciudad De La Costa
Ciudad de la Costa is a city in Canelones Department of Uruguay, on the banks of the RÃo de la Plata between the streams Arroyo Carrasco and Arroyo Pando. It is considered an extension of the metropolitan area of Montevideo which it borders to the west, while to the east it borders Costa de Oro. It was declared a city on 19 October 1994 and given its current name. At the 2011 census, it was the second most populated city of Uruguay between Montevideo and Salto. Ciudad de la Costa is also the name of the municipality to which the city belongs, but which does not include the area of Barra de Carrasco. Shangri-La is a fictional place in Asia's Kunlun Mountains (昆仑山), Uses the spelling 'Kuen-Lun'. described in the 1933 novel ''Lost Horizon'' by English author James Hilton. Hilton portrays Shangri-La as a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise, particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia – an enduringly happy land, isolated from the world. Carrasco/General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport is the main international airport of Uruguay. It is the country's largest airport and is located in the Carrasco neighborhood of Montevideo. It has been cited as one of the most efficient and traveler-friendly airports in Latin America. The airport is named after Cesáreo L. Route 10 (Uruguay)
Route 10 is a national route of Uruguay. In 1983, it was assigned the name Juan DÃaz de SolÃs, honouring the Spanish navigator. The distance notation along Route 10 uses the same Kilometre Zero reference as Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and IB, which is the Pillar of Peace of Plaza de Cagancha in the Centro of Montevideo. Rambla Of Montevideo
The Rambla of Montevideo is an avenue (landscape), avenue that goes all along the coastline of Montevideo, Uruguay. At a length of over 22.2 uninterrupted kilometres (13.7 mi), the promenade runs along the RÃo de la Plata and continues down the entire coast of Montevideo. Since all the southern departments of Uruguay are against either the RÃo de la Plata or the Atlantic Ocean, they all have ramblas as well. James Hilton (novelist)
James Hilton (9 September 1900 – 20 December 1954) was an English novelist and screenwriter. He is best remembered for his novels ''Lost Horizon'', ''Goodbye, Mr. Chips'' and ''Random Harvest'', as well as co-writing screenplays for the films '' Camille'' (1936) and ''Mrs. Miniver'' (1942), the latter earning him an Academy Award. Early life Hilton was born in Leigh, Lancashire, the son of John Hilton, the headmaster of Chapel End School in Walthamstow.
