Shane Robinson (footballer)
Shane Robinson (born 17 December 1980) is an Irish retired footballer who last played for Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland. Career Shane signed for Shamrock Rovers in 1999 and made a scoring debut. His first month in the league he was awarded Player of the Month. He went on to play for six seasons, making five appearances in European competition. He was Player of the Year for the 2001/02 season. He signed for Drogheda United in the 2005 close season He scored Drogheda's first-ever goal in European competition. He also scored for Drogheda in the Champions League qualifier at Dynamo Kiev on 7 August 2008. He was an instrumental part in Drogheda Uniteds huge success during his time their, helping the club win the league, the FAI cup and the Setanta cup twice. 2005 FAI Cup
The FAI Cup 2005 was the 85th staging of The Football Association of Ireland Challenge Cup or FAI Cup. It officially kicked off in late April, when twenty clubs from the junior and intermediate leagues battled it out for the chance to face League of Ireland opposition in the second round. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association. It is currently contested by LFA affiliated League of Ireland clubs, Leinster Senior League Senior Division clubs and invited teams from the various LFA affiliated junior leagues. Before the introduction of the FAI Cup, it was considered the major cup competition for clubs in what is now the Republic of Ireland. 2013 Setanta Sports Cup
The 2013 Setanta Sports Cup was the eighth staging of the annual all-Ireland football competition. It commenced on 11 February 2013 and ended on 11 May 2013 with the final played at the Tallaght Stadium, Dublin. Crusaders were the defending champions, after they defeated Derry City 5–4 on penalties in the 2012 final, when the match ended 2–2 after extra time. However, this season they went out 4–1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals to Cork City. Shamrock Rovers were the eventual winners for the second time overall, following a comfortable 7–1 win over Drogheda United in the final. This season's competition was notable for the fact that all four semi-finalists represented the Republic of Ireland.
