Shane McDermott (actor)
Shane McDermott (born February 18, 1992) is a former American football center in the National Football League for the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Miami. Early years McDermott attended Palm Beach Central High School. As a senior, he was a starter at center, receiving All-conference, All-area by the Palm Beach Post and All-Broward by the Sun-Sentinel honors. College career McDermott accepted a football scholarship from the University of Miami. As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 10 games as a backup at center. As a sophomore, he started all 12 games at center. He was part of the third passing offense (295.4) and fifth total offense (440.2) in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. The 2015 NFL Draft was the 80th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. It took place in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre and in Grant Park, from April 30 to May 2. The previous fifty NFL drafts (since 1965) had been held in New York City.
