Shane Fives
Shane Fives (born 26 May 1989) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a right corner-back for the Waterford senior team. Born in Tourin, County Waterford, Fives developed as a hurler during his secondary schooling at Blackwater Community School in Lismore. He later attended the Waterford Institute of Technology where he won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal in 2008. At club level, Fives came to prominence in juvenile and underage grades with Tourin, before winning a county junior championship medal in 2009. He also played with the Carrigtwohill club in Cork from 2013 to 2015. Fives made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Waterford minor team in 2006. After two championship seasons with the minor team, he subsequently joined the Waterford under-21 team. Tourin–Ballinwillin GAA
Tourin–Ballinwillin GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in County Waterford, Ireland between Cappoquin and Lismore. It has one Waterford Senior Hurling Championship title which was won in 1950. The club colours are red and white vertical stripes. The club goes by the name of 'Tourin' for hurling and 'Ballinwillin' for Gaelic Football. History In 2009, Tourin joined forces with another local club, Mount Melleray GAA. The new (amalgamated) club takes part in the Junior Premier section in the Waterford Hurling and Football Championships. On 10 October 2009, Tourin won the Western Junior hurling final, beating Ballinameela GAA by 2-18 to 2-14 at Fraher Field. The Munster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Carrigtwohill Hurlers
Carrigtwohill, officially Carrigtohill (), is a town in County Cork, Ireland with a population of 5,080 (2016). It is 12 kilometres east of Cork city. It is connected to Cork Suburban Rail and is bypassed by the N25 road. Carrigtwohill is one of the fastest-growing towns in the region, and a hub for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Tourin Hurlers
Tourin () is a type of French garlic soup, also known as ''le tourin d'ail doux'', or 'smooth garlic soup'. Many regions have their own variations on the recipe. Typically, many recipes include as many as 20 cloves of garlic for a much stronger flavor. However other recipes include an equal measure of both onions and garlic to even out the taste. To prepare, the minced garlic (and sliced onions if included) are sautéed until soft and a simple roux is made by adding flour. Chicken stock or water is added to the mixture and is simmered over low heat to reduce. Egg whites are slowly drizzled in, not unlike egg drop soup, but whisked very rapidly to prevent large curds from forming. 2015 National Hurling League
The 2015 National Hurling League was the 84th staging of the National Hurling League. Waterford won their first title since 2007 after a 1-24 to 0-17 win against Cork in the final on 3 May. TG4 and Setanta provided live coverage of the league with highlights shown on RTÉ2 on Sunday nights. Format 34 teams play in the 2015 NHL. The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 114th staging of Ireland's premier hurling competition since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. A total of thirteen teams competed in the championship, with Tipperary unseating the four-time defending champions Kilkenny by 4-17 to 1-18 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin. The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling).
