Shanaj Ahmed (born 9 January 1993) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for Sylhet Division cricket team, Sylhet Division. He made his Twenty20 debut on 11 June 2021, for Old DOHS Sports Club in the 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. Moulvibazar
Moulvibazar ( bn, মৌলভীবাজার) is a town in north-eastern Bangladesh just south of Sylhet. It is the capital of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila and Moulvibazar District, and is located on the banks of the Manu River, Tripura, Manu River. The town has a high population density. History In 1771, Moulvi Syed Qudratullah established a bazaar near the banks of the Manu River, Tripura, Manu River using his zamindari land. He started importing edible goods, such as fruits and vegetables opening up opportunities for people to purchase as well as sell. The location allowed easy access through river and land transport. The bazaar became the headquarters of South Sylhet subdivision in 1882. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Sylhet Division Cricket Team
The Sylhet Division cricket team is a Bangladeshi first-class team representing the Sylhet Division, one of the country's seven administrative regions. The team competes in the National Cricket League and was formerly a participant in the now-defunct National Cricket League One-Day. In the short-lived National Cricket League Twenty20 competition, played in the 2009–10 season only, Sylhet adopted the name Sultans of Sylhet and played in their official yellow and blue colours. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Old DOHS Sports Club is a team that plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier League in Bangladesh in 2014–15 and 2019–20. The sports club is based at the Defense Officers Housing Society estate (known as "Old DOHS" or " Banani DOHS") in the suburb of Banani in Dhaka. Old DOHS Sports Club won the Dhaka Premier League title twice in the years before it became a List A competition, including in 2011–12, the last season before the League was granted List A status. 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League
The 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League was the second edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League, a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament replaced the 2019–20 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and featured the same twelve teams playing in the Twenty20 format instead of the List A format. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to start on 6 May 2021. However, in April 2021, the tournament was postponed until 31 May 2021, due to the nationwide lockdown.
