Shana Alexander (October 6, 1925 – June 23, 2005) was an American journalist. Although she became the first woman staff writer and columnist for ''Life'' magazine, she was best known for her participation in the "Point-Counterpoint" debate segments of ''60 Minutes'', in the late 1970s, with conservative James J. Kilpatrick. Shanna McCullough (born April 1, 1960) is an American pornographic actress. Early life McCullough grew up in San Francisco, California. At school, she was involved with the theater group, and acted in drama and musicals. She went to college and received a degree in accounting. Then she worked as an electrician for two years, and also as a veterinary technician. Career Shanna McCullough chose her stage name Shanna after the heroine from her favorite romance novel, and McCullough because of her Irish ancestry. Kurilsk (russian: Кури́льск; ja, 紗那村 ''Shana-mura'') is a town and the administrative center of Kurilsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, located on the island of Iturup. Population: History Ainu have been known to inhabit the present site of Kurilsk since the 2nd millennium BCE, with their settlement known as Shana, and under Russian rule as Syana (). Russian colonists first appeared on Iturup in the late 18th century, with the Japanese erecting a military post in 1800. Tensions between Russian and Japanese colonists in the area led to the Treaty of Shimoda, which saw the southern Kuril Islands officially placed under Japanese rule in 1855, remaining so until the end of World War II. Shanna the She-Devil (Shanna O'Hara, Lady Plunder) is a fictional jungle adventurer superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
