Shamrock Rovers II was the reserve team of Shamrock Rovers. Throughout its history Rovers have entered reserve teams in various leagues including the Leinster Senior League, the League of Ireland B Division, the A Championship and the League of Ireland First Division. History Leinster Senior League Between the 1920s and the 1960s Shamrock Rovers B played in the Leinster Senior League. They were the Senior Division champions twice, in 1924–25 and 1939–40. On both occasions Jimmy Dunne played a leading role. In 1924–25 the young Jimmy Dunne was kept out of the Rovers first team by the legendary forward-line known as the "Four F's" – Billy Farrell, Bob Fullam, John Fagan and John Joe Flood. However Dunne played regularly for the reserve team, helping them win both the Leinster Senior League and the LFA Metropolitan Cup, the league cup of the Leinster Senior League. Tallaght Stadium
Tallaght Stadium ( ga, Staid Thamhlachta) is an association football stadium in the Republic of Ireland based in Tallaght, South Dublin. The club Shamrock Rovers originally announced details of the stadium in July, 1996. The stadium is now owned and operated by South Dublin County Council with Shamrock Rovers as the anchor tenants. Stadium information The main stand holds home supporters, club officials and press. A second stand on the opposite (east) side of the ground, was completed in August, 2009. The League of Ireland U19 Division is the under-19 division of the League of Ireland. The current division is the successor of earlier U21 and U20 divisions. Like the Premier Division and First Division, the U19 Division is currently sponsored by Airtricity and as a result it is also known as the SSE Airtricity U19 League. The earlier U21 and U20 divisions were sponsored by Eircom and as a result were referred to as the Eircom U21 League or the Eircom U20 League. The 2009 A Championship was the second season of the A Championship in Ireland. The season was sponsored by Newstalk. The league featured 18 teams. Shamrock Rovers A were the champions while the runners up, Salthill Devon, were promoted to the First Division. Overview 18 teams participated in the 2009 A Championship. 12 of these were the reserve teams of League of Ireland clubs. Andrew Myler
Andrew "Andy" Myler (born 2 December 1975, Dublin) is a former League of Ireland footballer, and current manager of UCD AFC Playing career He began his professional career at UCD where he made his League debut at St. James's Gate F.C. on 9 January 1994. He scored his first league goal on his first start at Longford Town on 27 March 1994. His first league hat trick was against Finn Harps on 6 September 1996. He also played for Newry Town, Monaghan United, Athlone Town, Waterford United and Drogheda United before Longford. He claims that his happiest days as a footballer came with Drogheda United where he has officially been accepted into the club's hall of fame. He is now known as a legend in Drogheda and his name is still sung week in week out by the Drogheda fans. The 2008 A Championship was the inaugural season of the A Championship in Ireland. The league featured 16 teams. UCD A were the inaugural champions, Cork City A won the Shield competition and Mervue United were promoted to the First Division after a play off. A Championship Shield Between March and June the twelve League of Ireland Premier Division reserve teams competed in the A Championship Shield. Mervue United, Salthill Devon and Tullamore Town did not play in the Shield as they were still playing in their previous junior/intermediate leagues which operated as winter leagues. This resulted in an overlap with the A Championship which operated as a summer league.
