Shambhuraj Shivajirao Desai is an Indian politician and Shiv Sena leader from Satara district, Maharashtra. He is a member of the 14th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Patan Assembly Constituency. He had been elected to Vidhan Sabha for three terms in 2004, 2014 and 2019. Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 30 June 2022, on resignation of his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde leads a government consisting of his Shiv Sena party and Bharatiya Janata Party. Formation After the 2019 Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena broke its pre-poll alliance with BJP. Instead, it formed a government with NCP and Congress. Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister, and Shinde was the public works and urban development minister. Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (Marathi pronunciation: d̪ʱːəʋ ʈʰaːkɾeː born 27 July 1960) is an Indian politician who served as the 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2022. Shiv Sena ( IAST: ''Śiva Sēnā'') () was a right-wing to far-right Marathi regionalist and Hindu ultranationalist political party in India founded in 1966 by cartoonist Bal Thackeray. Originally emerging from nativist movements in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), the party agitated for preferential treatment for the Marathi people over migrants from other parts of India. Its election symbol for Maharashtra was the ''Bow and Arrow''. Although the party's primary base always remained in Maharashtra, it tried to expand to a pan-Indian base. The Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena () is a Hindu nationalist political party in India formed in 2022 under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. Mohammed Fazal (2 July 1922 – 4 September 2014) was an Indian politician who was the Governor of Maharashtra from 10 October 2002 to 5 December 2004. Born in a well-known ''zamindari'' (landlord) family, he studied at the Allahabad University and later at the London School of Economics at the University of London.
