Shamar Sands
Shamar Sands (born 30 April 1985) is a Bahamian track and field athlete who specialises in the 110 metres hurdles. 55 metres hurdles is a distance in hurdling, usually only run in indoor competitions. This is more commonly run at the high school level. The objective is to approach the first hurdle with 7 steps, each hurdle after that needs to have 3 step intervals. 5 stepping or commonly known as stutter stepping cuts down a hurdlers momentum and cuts drastic time. 4 stepping is less common, but it is when a hurdler switches their lead leg each hurdle. Henry Rolle (coach)
Henry Rolle is a Bahamian former athlete and Head Coach at Puma MVP International professional running group based in Boca Raton, Florida. MVP International is a branch off club from the MVP Jamaica Group that has coached Elaine Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Asafa Powell. He coached St. John's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas before going to the States to serve as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts University. Rolle then went on to serve as the assistant Head coach at Auburn University for twenty years. He is now the Puma SE representative for the Caribbean. Rolle has coached 31 Olympians, 13 World Championship Medalists, Seven Commonwealth Games Medalists, 18 NCAA Champions, and 40 SEC Champions. The IAAF U18 Championships in Athletics (until 2015 known as IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics) was a global athletics event comprising track and field events for competitors who were 17 or younger (youth = Under-18). The event was organized by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It was held biennially from 1999 to 2017. The name change and cancellation In the 206th IAAF Council Meeting, held after the 2016 Summer Olympics, the council decided to conclude the world championship for under-18 athletes after the 2017 event. The decision was made with the intention of improving under-18 competitions at continental level instead.
