The V-League is a collegiate volleyball league for both men and women in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision. History Precursor league The V-League launched in 2022 traces its roots to the Premier Volleyball League established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc.. The Shakey's V-League was initially an inter-collegiate women's league with teams from the UAAP, NCAA, CESAFI among others playing in the league. The league had Shakey's Pizza as its title sponsor since its inception until 2016. The league would include corporate and non-collegiate teams in 2011. In 2014, a men's division was introduced during its 21st conference. The following year, the men's tournament was spun-off as Spikers' Turf. In late-2016, Sports Vision announced that the Spikers' Turf would be merged back with the Shakey's V-League (which was renamed as the Premier Volleyball League). Shakey's V-League 10th Season 2nd Conference
The Shakey's V-League 10th Season Open Conference was the nineteenth conference of the Shakey's V-League, commenced on August 18, 2013, at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan with 8 teams competing in the conference. Participating teams Tournament format Preliminaries Eight (8) competing teams had a Single Round-robin. Top six (6) teams qualified for the Quarterfinals. Quarterfinals The top six (6) teams battled for the top four (4) spots in a Single Round-robin with their scores from the preliminaries carried over, minus the ones won over the eliminated teams. The Shakey's V-League 10th Season: 1st Conference is the eighteenth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The opening ceremonies was held on April 7, 2013 with the first doubleheader of volleyball games at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. There are three new teams who are participating in this season, they are the Arellano University Lady Chiefs, De La Salle University - Dasmariñas Lady Patriots, and the University of San Carlos Lady Warriors. This three new teams will face the seven current participating teams like ADMU, AdU, UST, NU, SSC-R, UPHSD and CSJL. Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns
The Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns were a professional women's volleyball team that played in various tournaments, including the Shakey's V-League and the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). The team was owned by the family of Alvaro Antonio (governor of the Province of Cagayan from 2007 to 2016) and managed by his daughter, Criselda Antonio (the incumbent mayor of Alcala, Cagayan and provincial sports coordinator for the Province of Cagayan), herself, a former volleyball player. The team became inactive since July 2015 due to management issues within the team.
