''Shahnameh'' of Rashidā ( fa, شاهنامهٔ رشیدا) is an illustrated manuscript of the ''Shahnameh'', the national epic of Greater Iran. It contains 738 pages with 93 miniatures in Isfahan School. The miniatures have been attributed to Mohammad Yusef, a Safavid-era painter. This manuscript dates from the 17th century and now it is located in the Golestan Palace. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. He is believed to be the Seal of the Prophets within Islam. The ''Shahnameh'' or ''Shahnama'' ( fa, شاهنامه, Šāhnāme, lit=The Book of Kings, ) is a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi between c. 977 and 1010 CE and is the national epic of Greater Iran. Isfahan School
The Isfahan School () is a school of Islamic philosophy. It was founded by Mir Damad and reached its fullest development in the work of Mulla Sadra. The name was coined by Seyyed Hossein Nasr and Henry Corbin. Because of the attention of Shah Abbas during the Safavid Dynasty in Iran to intellectual tradition in Islam, Isfahan became a famous academic city and the intellectual center of Iran at the time, along with the cities of Rey and Shiraz. Mohammad Yusef The Painter
Mohammad Yusef the Painter ( fa, محمد یوسف نگارگر) was a Safavid era Persian painter of the Isfahan school. He was an apprentice of Reza Abbasi. The Shahnameh of Rashida is attributed to him. It seems that he and Mohammad Qasem were close co-workers, as their names are usually mentioned together. The Windsor Shahnameh (also known as the ''Shahnameh of Qarachaqay Khan'') contains 148 or 149 miniatures, all of them are attributed to Mohammad Yusef and Mohammad Qasem, except the first two miniatures. The miniatures of this Shahnameh are very similar to the miniatures of the Shahnameh of Rashida, and therefore it has been suggested that these manuscripts of Shahnameh have been prepared by same painters. The Windsor ''Shahnameh'' or ''Shahnameh'' of Qarajaghay Khan ( fa, شاهنامه قرچغای خان) is an illustrated manuscript of the ''Shahnameh'', the national epic of Greater Iran. It is one of the most famous manuscripts of the ''Shahnameh'', dating from 1648. The painters are Muhammad Qasim and Muhammad Yusuf.
