Shahmar Arif oghlu Movsumov ( az, Şahmar Arif oğlu Mövsümov, born January 31, 1972) is the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan. Biography Shahmar Movsumov was born on January 31, 1972, in Nakhchivan. From 1990 to 1995 he studied at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In 2003–2004 he received master's degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School. The Southern Gas Corridor is an initiative of the European Commission for a natural gas supply route from Caspian and Middle Eastern regions to Europe, proposed in 2008.
