Shahidul Islam (Lalu)
Shahidul Islam (Lalu) (died May 25, 2009) was the youngest person to receive the award – Bir Pratik. He was only 10 when he took part in the Bangladesh Liberation War. Liberation War Shahidul Islam Lalu went to Anwar Hossain Pahari and his group who were getting ready in the field of Keramjani Jawal School to obstruct the Pakistani Army. He was told he was too young, but was allowed to join upon persistent insistence upon his part. He joined Kader Bahini and Lalu went to India for training. He took part in many guerrilla operations liberating Gopalpur Thana. His role included combat and gathering information in disguise. After the liberation of Bangladesh, on 24 January Lalu along with the Kader Bahini submitted their weapons to the then President of Bangladesh. He also welcomed General Jagjit Singh Aurora, the head of the Mitro Bahini along with Kader Siddique in Tangail. Sheikh Shahidul Islam is a Bangladeshi politician who was elected to parliament for Madaripur-3 as a Jatiya Party candidate in 1986, and served as Minister for Education, Public Works, Youth and Sports from 1984 to 1990. He is the current secretary general of the Jatiya Party (Manju). Career In 1972 and 1975 he headed the Jatiya Chhatra League, the student front, of the BAKSAL government of Bangladesh. Shāhid al-Islām ibn Shams al-Ḥaqq as-Sardār al-Jasarī ( ar, شاهد الإسلام بن شمس الحق السردار الجسري; 15 March 1960 – 27 January 2023), or simply Shahidul Islam ( bn, শহিদুল ইসলাম), was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar and politician. He was a member of Parliament for the Narail-2 constituency, after winning a by-election in 2002. Early life and education Shahidul Islam was born on 15 March 1960 to a Bengali Muslim family in Jhiltuli, Faridpur, East Pakistan. His father, Shamsul Haque Sardar, hailed from Lohagara in Narail (formerly under Jessore District). In 1988, he received his Masters degree in Hadith studies from Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia in Karachi, Pakistan.
