Shahid
''Shaheed'' ( , , ; pa, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ) denotes a martyr in Islam. The word is used frequently in the Quran in the generic sense of "witness" but only once in the sense of "martyr" (i.e. one who dies for his faith); the latter sense acquires wider usage in the ''hadith''. The term is commonly used as a posthumous title for those who are considered to have accepted or even consciously sought out their own death in order to bear witness to their beliefs. Like the English-language word ''martyr'', in the 20th century, the word ''shahid'' came to have both religious and non-religious connotations, and has often been used to describe those who died for non-religious ideological causes. Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud ( ar, عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود, ʿAbd al ʿAzīz bin ʿAbd ar Raḥman Āl Suʿūd; 15 January 1875Ibn Saud's birth year has been a source of debate. It is generally accepted as 1875, although a few sources give it as 1880. According to British author Robert Lacey's book ''The Kingdom'', a leading Saudi historian found records that show Ibn Saud in 1891 greeting an important tribal delegation. The historian reasoned that a 10 or 11-year-old child (as given by the 1880 birth date) would have been too young to be allowed to greet such a delegation, while an adolescent of 15 or 16 (as given by the 1875 date) would likely have been allowed. When Lacey interviewed one of Ibn Saud's sons prior to writing the book, the son recalled that his father often laughed at records showing his birth date to be 1880. Mansour bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ( ar, منصور بن عبد العزيز آل سعود ''Manṣūr ibn ‘Abdul‘azīz Āl Su‘ūd''; 1921 – 2 May 1951) was a Saudi royal and politician who served as the defense minister of Saudi Arabia between 1943 and 1951. During his lifetime Prince Mansour was the third most powerful son of King Abdulaziz after Prince Faisal and Crown Prince Saud. Early life and education Prince Mansour was born in Qasr Al Hukm, Riyadh, in 1921. He is widely believed to be the ninth son of King Abdulaziz, but William A. Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (; 5 September 1926 – 3 May 2017) was a Saudi Arabian politician and businessman. A member of the House of Saud, he held different cabinet posts in the 1950s and was the chairman of the Allegiance Council from 2007 to 2017. Early life Prince Mishaal was born on 5 September 1926. Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ( ar, متعب بن عبد العزيز آل سعود, ') (1931 – 2 December 2019) was a senior member of the Saudi royal family and since the death of his half brother Prince Bandar in July 2019 was the oldest surviving son of King Abdulaziz. Qumash bint Abdulaziz Al Saud (1927 – 26 September 2011) was a member of the Saudi royal family. She was one of the children of King Abdulaziz and Shahida, an Armenian woman. Her mother was of Christian origin and died in 1938. Qumash was the full sister of Prince Mansour, Prince Mishaal and Prince Mutaib.
