Shahar is the god of dawn in the pantheon of Ugarit. Shahar is described as a child of El along with a twin, Shalim, the god of dusk. As the markers of dawn and dusk, Shahar and Shalim also represented the temporal structure of the day. Etymology The name is a cognate of the Hebrew word ''Shahar'' () meaning ''dawn''. In Arabic, the word for dawn is ''Sahar'' () and comes from the same Semitic root. This root is also visible in ''Suhoor'' (), the pre-dawn meal Muslims eat during Ramadan. Shahar Gordon (שחר גורדון; born June 7, 1980) is an Israeli former basketball player. He played the forward and center positions. He played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, and for the Israeli national basketball team. Biography Gordon was born in Ramat Gan, Israel, and is Jewish. His parents are Zeev (an attorney) and Claire Gordon (an educational researcher at the Open University of Israel). He is 6' 10" (208 cm) tall. Shahar Kober (born 1979) is an Israeli illustrator, art director and lecturer. He lives in Kiryat Tivon, Israel. Biography Kober was born in Kfar-Saba and raised in Ganei Am. He attended the Ami Assaf high school in Beit Berl and the University of Chicago Laboratory School. At age 21, he was admitted to Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, studying illustration and graphic design, graduating in 2005. After graduating he persisted a freelance career in illustration, illustrating over 40 children's books, published in Israel, The United Kingdom, United States, and other countries. His work is regularly published in newspapers and magazines, and he also contributes art to animation projects. Pe'er won five singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF circuit in her career. He peaked at world # 54 in the doubles rankings in November 1985.
