The Nationalist Party (Malta), Nationalist Party Shadow Cabinet of Dr Simon Busuttil was announced on May 14, 2013. It was formed following the Maltese general election, 2013, 9 March election which replaced the PN majority with a Labour majority. Former Prime Minister and Leader of the Nationalist Party (Malta), Nationalist Party Leader Dr Lawrence Gonzi announced his retirement and resigned from parliament on July 17, 2013. Nationalist Party (Malta)
The Nationalist Party ( mt, Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Malta, along with the Labour Party. It is a Christian-democratic, and conservative political party, and it has been also described as centrist or centre-right on the political spectrum. It is supportive of Malta's membership in the European Union. It is currently in opposition to the Labour Party. Since independence in 1964, the Nationalist Party has won six out of the thirteen general elections, in 1966, 1987, 1992, 1998 and 2003. In 2008 it won with a paper-thin majority of around 1500 votes. Jason Azzopardi
Jason Azzopardi (born 1971, Malta) is a Maltese politician and lawyer. He graduated as Doctor of Laws with a master's degree in financial services from the University of Malta in 1996 and that year he started practicing as a private criminal lawyer in the courts of Malta. Political career Azzopardi was first elected to the Maltese Parliament in 1998 and subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2008, and 2013, and 2017 as a member of the Maltese Nationalist Party. Ryan Callus (born 22 June 1983) is a Maltese politician currently serving as a Nationalist MP in the House of Representatives of Malta. He is currently serving as Spokesperson for Planning and Simplification of Administrative Processes. In March 2012, Callus was elected Deputy Mayor of the Siggiewi Local Council. Robert Arrigo (4 December 1954 – 18 October 2022) was a Maltese hotelier and politician who served a member of the House of Representatives of Malta for the Nationalist Party from 2003 until his death in 2022.
