Seyran Musheghi Ohanyan ( hy, Սեյրան Մուշեղի Օհանյան; born 1 July 1962) is an Armenian general and politician currently serving as a deputy in the National Assembly of Armenia. He served as Defence Minister of Armenia from 14 April 2008 until 3 October 2016. A native of Nagorno-Karabakh, he participated in both the first and second Karabakh wars, and from 2000 to 2007 served as defence minister of the unrecognized Republic of Artsakh. Biography Early life Ohanyan was born in the town of Shusha, then in the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast of the Azerbaijan SSR in the Soviet Union. Sedrak Firdusi Saroyan (; 3 September 1967 – 13 August 2022), also known as Seyran Saroyan, was an Armenian general and politician who served in the Parliament of Armenia from 2007 until his resignation in 2018. During his tenure, Saroyan was an independent politician affiliated with the Republican Party of Armenia. Prior to entering politics, Saroyan was a major general in the Armenian Ground Forces, commanding the 2nd Army Corps during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Seyran Nikolayi Shahsuvaryan ( hy, Սեյրան Նիկոլայի Շահսուվարյան, born August 13, 1953 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is the former press secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Armenia. Early life and career He was born on August 13, 1953 in Yerevan. In 1974 he graduated from the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University and became the director of the house of culture in Nairi that same year.
