Seymour I. Schwartz
Seymour I. Schwartz, (January 22, 1928 – August 28, 2020) was the Distinguished Alumni Professor for the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He was one of the most prolific and honored surgeons in American history with further successes outside of the field of medicine as a renowned author and cartographic historian. His most notable accomplishments in surgery include being the founding editor-in-chief of ''Schwartz's Principles of Surgery'', Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester (1987-1998), Editor-in-Chief of the ''Journal of the American College of Surgeons'' (1996-2004) and President of the American College of Surgeons (1997-1998). North Bronx
The North Bronx is the northern section of the Bronx, one of the five Boroughs of New York City, boroughs of New York City. It is bordered by Westchester County, New York, Westchester County to the north, the South Bronx to the south, the Hudson River to the west and the Long Island Sound to the east. The western part is more urbanized and hilly than its eastern counterpart, just like the rest of the borough. Residency or postgraduate training is specifically a stage of graduate medical education. It refers to a qualified physician (one who holds the degree of MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB), veterinarian ( DVM or VMD) , dentist ( DDS or DMD) or podiatrist ( DPM) who practices medicine, veterinary medicine , dentistry, or podiatry, respectively, usually in a hospital or clinic, under the direct or indirect supervision of a senior medical clinician registered in that specialty such as an attending physician or consultant. In many jurisdictions, successful completion of such training is a requirement in order to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine, and in particular a license to practice a chosen specialty. Favrot & Livaudais (1891–1933) was an architectural firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. The firm designed many buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The firm was founded in 1891 by Charles Favrot (1866-1939) and Louis A. Livaudais (1870-1932). Charles Favrot was the son-in-law to architect, James Freret. Louis Livaudais had worked with Freret sometime before the two decided to join together to start their own architectural practice. The firm closed in 1933 after Livaudais died.
