Sex Pistols Box Set
''Sex Pistols'' is a box set anthology of the career of the punk band The Sex Pistols with singer Johnny Rotten. It was released on 3 June 2002. The set comprises three themed CDs and an 80-page booklet. The first disc features ''Never Mind the Bollocks'', the band's only studio album, in its entirety, as well as four B-sides and the band's first demo session. The second disc has demos and studio outtakes, from July 1976 to January 1977 and from the ''Never Mind the Bollocks'' sessions. This, together with the first disc, includes most of the material recorded by the band while Johnny Rotten was the singer. The third disc, composed of previously unreleased live tracks, is almost completely taken from a 31 August 1976 gig at Islington Screen on the Green Cinema. The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band formed in London in 1975. Although their initial career lasted just two and a half years, they were one of the most groundbreaking acts in the history of popular music. Sid Vicious
John Simon Ritchie (10 May 1957 – 2 February 1979), better known by his stage name Sid Vicious, was an English musician, best known as the bassist for the punk rock band Sex Pistols. Despite dying in 1979 at age 21, he remains an icon of the punk subculture; one of his friends noted that he embodied "everything in punk that was dark, decadent and nihilistic." Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend (; born 19 May 1945) is an English musician. He is co-founder, leader, guitarist, second lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s and 1970s. "Substitute" is a song by the English rock band The Who, written by Pete Townshend. Released in March 1966, the single reached number five in the UK and was later included on the compilation album '' Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy'' in 1971. In 2006, ''Pitchfork'' ranked "Substitute" at number 91 on the "200 Greatest Songs of the 1960s". Inspiration and writing "Substitute" was primarily inspired by the 1965 soul single "The Tracks of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Pete Townshend became obsessed, particularly, with the line, "Although she may be cute/She's just a substitute." This had then led Townshend "to celebrate the word with a song all its own." The Stooges
The Stooges, originally billed as the Psychedelic Stooges, also known as Iggy and the Stooges, was an American rock band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1967 by singer Iggy Pop, guitarist Ron Asheton, drummer Scott Asheton, and bassist Dave Alexander. "Pretty Vacant" is a song by the English punk rock band the Sex Pistols. It was released on 2 July 1977 as the band's third single and was later featured on their only album, ''Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols'', released during that same year. "Bodies" is a song by the Sex Pistols, from their 1977 album '' Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols''. The song tackles the subject of abortion with lyrics described as "some of the most uncompromising, gut-wrenching lyrics imaginable". "Holidays in the Sun" is a song by the English group Sex Pistols. It was released on 14 October 1977 as the band's fourth single, as well as the advance single from their only album ''Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols''. A #8 chart hit in the UK, the single proved to be the last with singer John Lydon for 30 years.
