Severoonezhsk (russian: Северооне́жск) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Plesetsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia, located west of the town of Mirny, on the left bank of the Onega River. Municipally, it is the administrative center of Severoonezhskoye Urban Settlement, one of the eight urban settlements in the district. Population: . The Onega (russian: Оне́га; fi, Äänisjoki) is a river in Kargopolsky, Plesetsky, and Onezhsky Districts of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. The classification system of inhabited localities in Russia and some other post-Soviet states has certain peculiarities compared with those in other countries.
