Severinus Of Noricum
Severinus of Noricum ( 410 – 8 January 482) is a saint, known as the "Apostle to Noricum". It has been speculated that he was born in either Southern Italy or in the Roman province of Africa. Severinus himself refused to discuss his personal history before his appearance along the Danube in Noricum, after the death of Attila in 453. However, he did mention experiences with eastern desert monasticism, and his ''vita'' draws connections between Severinus and Saint Anthony of Lerins. Saint Severinus of Noricum is not to be confused with Severinus of Septempeda, bishop of San Severino Marche and brother of Saint Victorinus of Camerino. Life Little is known of his origins. The source for information about him is the ''Commemoratorium vitae s. Severini'' (511) by Eugippius. Severinus was a high-born Roman living as an anchorite in the East. He himself was an asxetic in practice. He is first recorded as traveling along the Danube in Noricum and Bavaria, preaching Christianity ...

Its members since 1982 are Herbert Vianna (guitar and lead vocals), Bi Ribeiro (bass), and João Barone (drums). In its beginning, the band combined reggae and ska with rock, but later added horn arrangements and Latin rhythms. History Beginnings Although considered part of the "Brasília gang", because they lived there and were friends with local bands, Paralamas' proper birthplace was Seropédica. Herbert Vianna and Felipe "Bi" Ribeiro were childhood friends and neighbors in that city. Herbert's father was in the military, while Bi's was a diplomat. In 1977, Herbert went to Rio to attend military school, and met Bi once again. They decided to form a band, Herbert with his Gibson guitar and Bi, which had no musical training whatsoever, with a bass guitar bought during a trip to England. The drummer Vital Dias would later join them. They ...

Severino (album)
''Severino'' is the seventh studio album by Brazilian rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso. It was released in 1994 and produced by famous record producer Phil Manzanera. It was their most experimental album. The sonority and lyrical themes of ''Severino'' were heavily influenced by the popular music and the culture of Northeast Brazil, and the poetry of famous writer João Cabral de Melo Neto (most notably his masterpiece '' Morte e Vida Severina''). However, like the previous album '' Os Grãos'', it received mostly mixed to negative reviews at the time of its release, and suffered from extremely poor sales: it sold only 55,000 copies. However, the album was better received in Argentina. ''Severino'' spawned minor hits such as "El Vampiro Bajo el Sol", "Vamo Batê Lata", "Navegar Impreciso", "Varal", "Go Back" (a Spanish-language cover of Titãs' song of the same name), and "Casi un Segundo" (a Spanish-language translation of the Paralamas' song "Quase um Segundo" from their 1988 a ...
