Severed Ties
''Severed Ties'' is the debut studio album by Australian post-hardcore band the Amity Affliction. It was released on 4 October 2008 through Boomtown Records, which debuted at No. 26 on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Albums Chart, and No. 6 on the related Australian Artists Albums Chart. The album was the last release to feature guitarist Chris Burt and the first to feature drummer Ryan Burt. Background "Poison Pen Letters" was re-recorded for ''Severed Ties'', it originally appeared on the demo compilation, ''State of Affairs'' – a collection of tracks by hardcore bands from the five mainland states of Australia. "Love Is a Battlefield" is a cover of a track by Pat Benatar. Three tracks contained samples from feature films, however due to copyright restrictions, the then-active label of Boomtown Records, Boomtown was forced to remove them. ''Hot Rod'' is a 2007 American comedy film directed by Akiva Schaffer (in his directorial debut) and written by Pam Brady. The film stars Andy Samberg (in his film debut) as amateur accident-prone stuntman Rod Kimble, whose stepfather, Frank (Ian McShane), continuously mocks and disrespects him. When Frank becomes ill, Rod raises money for his heart operation by executing his largest stunt yet. The film also stars Jorma Taccone, Sissy Spacek, Will Arnett, Danny McBride, Isla Fisher and Bill Hader. Holly Knight
Holly Knight (born 1956) is an American songwriter, musician, and singer. She was a member of the 1980s pop rock groups Spider and Device, and wrote or co-wrote several hit singles for other artists, such as " Rag Doll", " Obsession", " Love Is a Battlefield", " The Best", " Invincible", " Better Be Good to Me", " The Warrior", and "Change". Mike Chapman
Michael Donald Chapman (born 13 April 1947) is an Australian record producer and songwriter who was a major force in the British pop music industry in the 1970s. He created a string of hit singles for artists including The Sweet, Suzi Quatro, Smokie, Mud and Racey with business partner Nicky Chinn, creating a sound that became identified with the "Chinnichap" brand. The Getaway Plan are an Australian rock music band, which formed in 2004. Founding mainstays are Matthew Wright on lead vocals, piano and rhythm guitar and Clint Ellis on lead guitar.
