Seven Warriors
''Seven Warriors'' (Chinese: 忠義群英) is a 1989 Hong Kong action film directed by Terry Tong and starring Adam Cheng, Jacky Cheung, Max Mok and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai with a guest appearance by Sammo Hung. This film is a homage to the 1954 Japanese film ''Seven Samurai''. Plot The story takes place during the Warlord Era in China where many soldiers became bandits, doing evil nuisances to farmers. In Guangxi, a small village often suffers from bandits robbing and in order to defend their homeland, the villagers hire seven warriors to protect them against bandits infringement. The seven warriors led the villages to prepare for war and together with their combined efforts, they finally defeat the bandits. John Shum
John Sham Kin-Fun (born 1952) is a Hong Kong actor and film producer. His English name is sometimes written as John Shum. Whilst known primarily for his comedic acting roles in Hong Kong cinema, he also spent time as a political activist. Biography Shum was educated in Hong Kong, the UK and the US. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he co-founded "City Magazine" with John Chan, and worked as its editor. At the same time, he began working in television and radio. He was also a student activist in the 1970s back in his youth and was a member of a Trotskyist vanguard party the Revolutionary Marxist League. In 1983, he set up the film production company D&B Films, along with Sammo Hung and Dickson Poon. He later founded another film company with John Chan, Maverick Films Ltd. Sham's most prolific period working as an actor was during the 1980s. Of the 45 films he has appeared in, 33 were during this period. Derek Kok
Derek Kok Jing-hung (, born 18 November 1964) is a Hong Kong actor who had worked for TVB from 1986 to 2015. He filmed over 70 dramas. He is specialised in action and Chinese Kung Fu performance. Career His career started when he entered the New Talent Singing Awards in 1985. Even though he only made it through to the semi-finals, his stage performance, including the acrobatics he demonstrated throughout his performance impressed the folks at TVB. He then entered the TVB Artiste Training Class in 1985 and was signed with the station after completion of the program. The first notable role he played was Lee Yuen Ba in The Grand Canal. He left TVB in 2015 to sign a contract with a mainland Chinese company. In 2020, he also signed a contract with Shaw Brothers.
